SRP at RevCon2011

Revelation Software held their 2011 User’s Conference at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas on October 5th through the 7th. Revelation showed off the new OpenInsight 9.3 Beta release, Banded Report Writer, and had a helpful walk through of O4W. It was a wonderful event filled with fantastic food, networking with old and new friends, and an opportunity to see what other developers have been working on since the past conference.

SRP presented three topics emphasizing best practices in application development. Company President Don Bakke and Senior Developer Kevin Fournier gave back-to-back presentations on The Art and Science of Form Designing.

Don focused on how quick tricks and understanding your tools will lead you saving time creating forms as well as a better looking finished product.

Kevin focused on the SRP ActiveX controls and showed how to use them with a little out-of-the-box thinking to create new and beautiful forms.

Don gave another presentation on Using a Framework to Develop a Winning Application. This discussion focused on how having a pre-built framework, in which you can start each of your projects, can be advantageous and save the developer hours of setup time and foundation laying of each project. With the framework already in place, a developer can start creating their project right away, rather than having to start from the ground up.

The entire conference was enjoyed by all; a time for collaborating and discovering new things about the Revelation Software and community. We thank Revelation for putting on such a great even and look forward to the next one!
